Pan Installation

PAN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The following are general instructions for the installation of all Imperial toilet pans, unless otherwise indicated.

Pan Installation ProcedureRemove the pan from the carton and check for damage.Installation using mortar bed.

  1. Remove tiling from beneath the foot of the pan in the installation position.
  2. Using 4:1 sand to cement mortar mix, fill the space to approximately 40mm depth. Do not use fast drying cement or lime in the mix as this may cause cracking in the foot of the pan.
  3. Position the pan inserting the outlet in to the connector and ensuring that the pan is level in the bedding mixture and that the foot of the pan is approximately 10mm above the finished floor level. Remove excess mortar and allow to set for 24 hours.

Installation using screw fixing.

  1. Position the pan inserting the outlet in to the connector and mark the position of fixing holes. Ensure that the pan is level.
  2. Remove the Pan and drill fixing holes to suite the fixing system to be used.
  3. Apply waterproof sealant to the pan, reposition the pan outlet in to the connector and fix the pan. Remove any excess sealant.

Installation of seat and link

  1. Loosen flush pipe clamp nut.
  2. Position the link under the cistern as far back as it will go between the clamp nut and the cistern.
  3. Mark a line square across the link in line with the centre of the seat bolt holes (see figure). Remove the link piece and cut it to length. pan2.gif - 8166 Bytes
  4. Loosely fit the seat bolts to the pan.
  5. Slide the link into the slot of the seat hinge block.
  6. Slide the seat and link assembly into position locating the seat bolt heads into the slots in the seat hinge block (see diagram), fitting the link between the clamp nut and the bottom of the cistern. pan3.gif - 7485 Bytes
  7. Tighten the clamp nut and tighten the flush pipe capnut.
  8. Centre the seat over the pan and tighten the wing nuts on the seat and bolts.
